Self-care secret (for when you’re too busy) 🤫

I think you and I can agree, Reader- life gets busy. Time flies (seriously… how is it almost May already?!) and some days feel like they’re just slipping away before we even get a chance to breathe.

Lately, I’ve been feeling that even more. Patrick and I are in the middle of house hunting, which is exciting- but it also means my days feel extra full. Between packing, seeing clients, touring homes, and, you know, life- finding time for self-care has felt trickier than usual.

And yet… I know this is exactly the time I need it most.
To keep my energy high…
and my cortisol low.

That’s why I'm really into habit stacking.

It’s this simple, brilliant concept (coined by James Clear, author of "Atomic Habits") where you attach a new habit- like breathwork, affirmations, or mindful movement- to something you’re already doing every day.

No extra time required. No new calendar blocks. Just weaving supportive self-care practices into what you’re already doing.

Here are a few ways I’ve been habit stacking lately:

While walking: I leave my phone in my pocket and tune into my surroundings- the temperature of the air, the sound of leaves rustling in the wind, the smell of fresh cut grass…

While brushing my teeth: Some heel lifts fire up my calves and improve my balance.

While doing chores: I turn on music and dance while I clean- moving my body and lifting my mood.

While driving: I repeat affirmations or take slow, deep breaths to really ground and settle into my body.

These little shifts may seem small, but they create huge ripple effects.

Self-care doesn’t need to be another to-do.

It can be a natural part of your every day.

Let me know if you try habit stacking this week! I’d love to hear what you’re weaving into your day- whether it’s breathwork in the shower, affirmations on your commute, or a dance party in the kitchen. 💃🕺
