Feel Better, Live Fuller- No Matter How Busy Life Gets

Inside each newsletter, I'll be sharing how I practically (and imperfectly) fit self-care into my real life. Like you, I don't always get it "right" (whatever that means) and I'm learning how to release the perfectionism and guilt along the way. My intention is that these newsletters give you gentle encouragement to stay rooted in your body, your values, and your vision- no matter what life throws at you.

This week's joys šŸŒ„

Hi friend! I've had many joys this week- mostly because I’ve been on vacation for half of it: We saw Stephen & Damien Marley perform at a park in Harrisburg, with a gentle breeze coming off the Susquehanna. Patrick and I escaped to Berkeley Springs, WV for a couple days. We stayed in a cute tiny home at Camp Potomac Peak (highly recommend, btw) and hiked in Cacapon State Park, experienced a hot spring bath at the Berkeley Springs spa, and mostly relaxed and took in the beautiful views of the...

This week's joys šŸ¦‹

Hi friend. How are you? Popping in to share with you my simple joys this week (if you missed any, you can read them here): The beautiful, deep purple orchids Max left on the counter for me before he left for OC. The monarch and swallowtail butterflies fluttering around on our butterfly bush. Evening and morning hikes with Patrick- discovering old mines, iridescent green dragonflies, and large cauliflower mushrooms growing at the base of old trees. I hope you take some time this weekend to...

This week's joys šŸ

Hey friend! Here are my simple joys this week (if you missed any, you can catch up here): On Sunday we celebrated my nephew Levi’s 5th birthday with a bug themed party… and a slip & slide! It was my first time going down one in 30+ years and it was a blast (despite some minor bumps and bruises)! I took my meditation practice outside on Wednesday morning. I allowed my awareness to stay present with the chirping of birds, rattling of cicadas, and whirring of bees and hummingbirds. I got a...

This Week's Joys🪻

Hey there, friend. How are you? I hope you found some space for joy this week. Most of my joy this week came from watching the sweet hummingbirds who now frequently visit my feeder. As I mentioned in last week’s joys, my new feeder was beginning to attract some visitors. (If you missed last week’s email, you can read it HERE) Glimpse from my kitchen window. I get so giddy each time they visit! This new hummingbird interest (okay, fine- obsession) of mine led to some Googling- I learned that...

Things that brought me joy this week

Hey friend, I wanted to share that I’ve begun a new practice of keeping a list of the things that bring me joy each week. Lately, I’ve been finding myself feeling scattered. Anxious. Disconnected from myself. Given where we are collectively, it can at times be difficult to feel like there is any good in this world. Because that’s what we’re constantly being served. Through the endless news cycle (cyclone?), social media, etc. we are seeing horror after horror. Heartbreak after heartbreak....

A long exhale (and life update)

Little life update- we moved! I may have shared with you that Patrick and I began house hunting back in April. The owners of the house we had been renting were moving back to Maryland and planned to live in the house. So, we were given the ā€œfunā€ opportunity to find a place to live… in two months’ time. Because we’d really like to buy a home, we spent the first month house hunting. In case you were wondering- the housing market is still crazy. Not as competitive as when we were looking back in...

Space for the both/and.

Life is nuanced, Reader. As much as we crave the safety and certainty of putting all of life into tidy little categories... Good or bad Right or wrong Light or dark… Most of life exists within the both/and. There have been times in my life where I’ve been both sad and excited about a new beginning. Both grateful for the privilege of loving someone deeply and grieving the loss of them. Both grounded in my path and uncertain of exactly where it will lead. Allowing space for these dualities to...

Self-care secret (for when you’re too busy) 🤫

I think you and I can agree, Reader- life gets busy. Time flies (seriously… how is it almost May already?!) and some days feel like they’re just slipping away before we even get a chance to breathe. Lately, I’ve been feeling that even more. Patrick and I are in the middle of house hunting, which is exciting- but it also means my days feel extra full. Between packing, seeing clients, touring homes, and, you know, life- finding time for self-care has felt trickier than usual. And yet… I know...

🌷It's FINALLY here!🪻

Reader, it's FINALLY here... The Spring Equinox arrives on Thursday, equal hours of light and dark. In the northern hemisphere, the earth is waking up from its winter slumber. Trees begin to bud, the birds are singing louder, and the first green shoots begin to peek from the soil- it’s a time of renewal, growth, and possibility. Just as the seasons shift, so do we. Winter invited us inward, into reflection, rest, and deep nourishment. Now, as the days grow longer and the world around us comes...
