This week's joys 📚

This week's joys:

I spent last Sunday catching up with my sister/bff, Shanna. We had lunch in old Ellicott City and then sipped tea while perusing the shelves at Backwater Books.

In the aforementioned trip to Backwater Books, a blue book with black birds on the cover caught my eye. It was titled The Beat of Black Wings: Crime Fiction Inspired by the Songs of Joni Mitchell. Sold. I haven't begun to read it yet (anyone else have like 5+ books going at any one time?) but I'll let you know my thoughts as soon as it makes its way into the rotation.

This week, I learned that corvids (ravens, crows) can mimic human voices as well as parrots! So obviously my new project will be to befriend the crows that visit my yard by bribing them with dog food as I say "hello". Stay tuned for progress updates. lol

If, like me, you're open to any and all advice on how to stay sane in these insane times, give this episode of We Can Do Hard Things a listen. Glennon, Abby, and Amanda share how to stay engaged, grounded, and human in this moment.

I hope you're finding little joys to keep you sane and grounded. And, as always, I'd love to hear what little joys you experienced this week so feel free to reply and share them.

Sending love,

Courtney

Yoga means union — a remembering of our connection to ourselves, to one another, and to something greater. This community class is a space to come home to that sense of connection. Each class will begin with pranayama (breathwork). You’ll then be guided through various asanas (postures), exploring them through longer holds as well as through fluid, mindful movement. We’ll close our practice with savasana (final resting pose) and a short meditation. Props and variations will be offered for all levels of experience. My intention is to offer practices that can be accessible to all, regardless of finances, so this class is offered as pay what you can.
