This week's joys

Hey friend.

It’s been an interesting week (I think we say that every week these days). And yet, here we are. Breathing. Being. Taking it all in. And then hopefully processing all the emotions that come up along the way so they can move through us and be released.

Sometimes, though, we can’t get out of our head long enough to actually feel and process. One of my deepest joys is offering ways you can drop back into your body and the moment. So, let’s take a moment to drop in together:

Take a deep breath in. And out.

Allow your gaze to soften.

Drop in.

Drop into your surroundings.

Drop into your body.

Drop into your breath.

Feel into your body.

Feel into this moment.

Here you are.

You are here.

This quick and simple practice of dropping in can be so supportive when you’re feeling stuck in your head. I use it several times throughout the day and it always brings me back to my center.

In addition to the joy of sharing that simple practice with you, here are the rest of this week’s joys:

My meditation practice ebbs and flows and this week it’s been flowing! My morning meditation is something I always return to, it’s the thing that grounds me back into my body and sets me up for more presence during my day.

A thoughtful client of mine gifted me with a beautiful throw blanket she knitted herself! I’ll most likely be wrapped up in it cocoon-style throughout the upcoming autumn and winter.

Being regularly knocked into by swallowtail butterflies whenever I go into the backyard. They make me smile and feel like a little reminder to come back to the moment.
